Project Overview
The Metro 13 Bus Station in Los Angeles required a robust traffic coating system for a high-use vehicular parking deck. Durability, slip resistance and long-term waterproofing were essential to withstand the constant movement of transit buses. Pacific Waterproofing & Restoration was brought in to apply a Polycoat system that could meet the challenge.

The Challenge
With frequent vehicle traffic and exposure to weather, the bus deck surface required a long-lasting system that could resist abrasion, UV damage and chemical exposure. The system needed to deliver proven performance with minimal maintenance, while ensuring public safety and reliable performance for years to come.
Project Requirements
- High-durability traffic coating
- Slip resistance and weather protection
- Fast, professional installation
Our Solution
The team applied the Poly-I-Gard® 246SC Vehicular Traffic Deck System, including Polyprime® EBF-LV primer, an intermediate coat and top coat. This seamless system delivers superior chemical resistance, elongation and wear properties — ideal for transit decks that experience heavy rolling loads and frequent turnarounds.
Results
The project was completed efficiently, covering 28,000 square feet with long-lasting protection that will support Metro LA’s operations for years to come. The deck is now protected with a durable, low-maintenance system that meets both functional and safety requirements.
“The Poly-I-Gard® 246SC system delivered the toughness and reliability this high-traffic transit deck demanded — resisting wear, weather and heavy vehicle loads without compromise.”
