EPS Hardcoats for Theme & Prop
Carved EPS is cheap, light and easy to shape — and on its own it dents if you lean on it. A themed rock face, a queue-line prop or an architectural shape needs a sprayed hardcoat that turns soft foam into something that survives a public space, takes paint, and passes the fire test the venue is inspected against.
The Themecoat® range is a family of hybrid polyurea/polyurethane sprays formulated to be applied over EPS, wood and many other surfaces. Their balance of stiffness and impact resistance provides a plastic “shell-like” protection for delicate foams and EPS.
Choosing a Themecoat® Hardcoat
The first question is almost always the fire rating; after that it is how much flex the piece needs.
